WIAA Executive Board Action for January Meeting

 RENTON, Wash. – The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Executive Board took the following action during its January 23-24, 2011 meeting.

  • APPROVED ON FIRST READING to accept the revenue sharing plan.
  • APPROVED the fall tournament financial report.    
  • APPROVED ON SECOND READING recommendations 1) through 4) of the state volleyball tournament format review special committee. NOTE: Third and final reading will take place during the March 19-20, 2011 meeting.    
  • APPROVED the 2011 State Volleyball Tournament Sites: 1B, 2B and 1A at the Yakima Valley SunDome; 2A at The  Evergreen State College; 3A and 4A at Saint Martin’s University.
  • APPROVED the Central Washington B League request for experiment regarding middle level volleyball contests.
  • APPROVED the proposed rule changes submitted by WMEA for the 2012 State Solo and Ensemble Contests.
  • APPROVED the Central Washington B League request to allow schools to play boys soccer in the spring.
  • APPROVED Franklin Park and Merkel Complex in Spokane for the 2011 and 2012 1A State Fastpitch Championships.
  • FAILED the Soccer Buy Back Proposal.
  • APPROVED to publish total amendment vote to the public and send the breakdown by district to the District Directors.
