Vancouver Students Bring Championship Production to Football Broadcasts
12/16/2022
At the 2022 State Football Championships, students had a chance to take part in the action both on and off the field. Students from Vancouver Public Schools' video production program (VPS Gametime) made the trip up I-5 to broadcast four of the six state championship football games in collaboration with the WIAA, Eli Sports Network and Rainier Avenue Radio.
The full broadcast production which included multiple cameras, instant replay and graphics was streamed live on the NFHS Network and served as the official broadcast of the State Championship games at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup and Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma.
At Harry E. Lang stadium students from the video production class at Bates Technical College gained experience by producing the official broadcast.
The WIAA will continue to build on it's partnership with the groups involved to give more students the opportunity to be involved with State Championship events.
