Sequim High School is seeking an enthusiastic and organized leader to serve as Head Cheerleading Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the cheer program, including sideline cheer and the continued development of a competitive cheer team. The coach will develop a positive, inclusive, and student-centered program aligned with Sequim Wolves Athletics and Sequim School District expectations. The position requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and a commitment to the safety and development of student-athletes. Responsibilities include organizing and supervising practices and performances, developing structured practice plans, supervising assistant coaches, and maintaining clear communication with athletes and families. The Head Coach will promote school spirit by coordinating cheer participation at athletic events while also guiding the program toward competitive growth. The cheer program is expected to make continued progress toward becoming a competitive team and to participate in the WIAA Cheer Season. The Head Coach will help develop the technical skills necessary for competitive cheer, including stunting, tumbling, and performance skills, while maintaining a strong focus on safety standards. Additional responsibilities include overseeing equipment and uniforms, assisting with scheduling and logistics, ensuring compliance with WIAA, Olympic League, and district policies, and supporting academic accountability and leadership development among student participants. Candidates should have experience coaching cheer, dance, gymnastics, or related activities and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Applicants must meet all WIAA and Sequim School District coaching certification requirements, including First Aid/CPR, concussion training, and WIAA coaching standards. Compensation is provided through the district coaching stipend schedule.
